San Marino vs Albania World Cup Qualify 2022 Preview and Prediction Live Soccer streams

San Marino vs Albania

World Cup Qualifications
Date : Wednesday, 31 March 2021
Kick-Off at 19.45 UK
Venue: Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle, Serravalle.

San Marino will host Albania in a low-profile World Cup 2022 qualifier on Wednesday evening at Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle. The hosts, who did not score a single goal in seven successive matches in all competitions before the start of the new qualifying campaign, expectedly failed to find the back of the net in any of the opening two fixtures in Group I. They began with a 5-0 loss in England and a 0-3 defeat to Hungary.

Albania managed to break the deadlock past the Andorrans to claim a narrow 0-1 victory in their campaign opener. The Eagles dominated the pitch throughout the entire course of the game and could have easily scored more goals on the occasion. They then offered a solid resistance against England, but eventually had to settle for a 0-2 defeat on Sunday afternoon.

San Marino vs Albania Head-to-head

  • This will be the first official head to head meeting between the two teams.
  • They’ve played two times in the past, both times in friendlies.
  • Albania won both games with an identical 0-3 scoreline (in 2006 and 2014).

San Marino vs Albania Prediction

The difference in quality between these two sides should be easily recognized on Wednesday and we thus expect the visitors to take control from the get go. San Marino do not have a single professional player in their ranks, while we can recognize some prominent Serie A names in the Albanian team.

The visitors have two strong goalkeepers in the likes of Etrit Berisha (SPAL) and Thomas Strakosha (Lazio), while we also have to mention Napoli’s full-back Elseid Hysay, Atalanta’s defender Berat Djimsiti, and Spezia’s Ardian Ismajli.

The visitors would theoretically stay in the battle for the second-place finish in this very tough group and we can hardly imagine any other scenario but a comprehensive clean-sheet victory for them here.

The Albanians do not often have an opportunity to boost their confidence with a commanding victory and we believe they will take the full advantage of it this time around.
